Blue Ribbon for product innovationAcer has recently raised the bar for touch screen tablet computers with their ICONIA-6120. Their claim to fame with this tablet is that it’s the first 10-finger multi-touch tablet computer in the world.

I must admit that this is an interesting concept. After all, if one touch screen is awesome, two touch screens must be twice as awesome. I’m really excited to see companies like Acer who are thinking outside of the box and coming up with interesting and new design concepts that will help this technology continue to evolve.

Let’s take a look at what this little dual touch screen laptop comes packed with:

What About Typing On This Multi-Touch Tablet?

Well, one of the downsides of this duel screen display is data entry. You’re limited to a virtual on-screen keyboard but as you’ll see in this video, the keyboard is actually much larger than the virtual keyboards you might be use to typing on that come standard on devices like iPads.

My Recommendations

I give Acer two big thumbs up for being creative and pushing the envelope with this new tablet design and I can’t wait to get my hands on one to put it through its paces. I’m especially looking forward to testing out their fingerprint resistive coating to see how it stacks up.
